Hello and thank you for visiting my web site!
Just a few words about me: I am a native of southern New Jersey and analytical chemist by trade. I owned and operated a New Jersey State Certified Environmental Laboratory for approximately 30 years. I retired from the business in 2018 and now live in South Carolina with my wife, son, daughter and an array of unusual pets.
My purpose as an artist is to create accessible, aesthetically appealing art that celebrates God's creation and the beauty of nature. My influences are rooted in generational folk art and an appreciation of impressionist art, particularly that of Henri Matisse. I come from a family of avid outdoorsmen and learned the art of wood carving while growing up. In addition, I was raised in the Philadelphia area where I enjoyed many opportunities to admire the impressionist collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Barnes Foundation.
After a long hiatus I recently began creating again. My past work includes carvings, paintings, drawings and creative writing, most of which has been gifted to family and friends. Creating art gives me a sense of peace that I hope is conveyed to all who view my work.
